The activities of our group focus on the two following topics:

Biomedical Research in Space

We investigate the effects of microgravity conditions on (primarily) mammalian cells. For that purpose, we perform experiments with special equipment on ground, on parabolic flights and in space on the International Space Station (ISS).

BIOTESC (Biotechnology Space Support Centre)

BIOTESC, one of the 9 European User Support and Operations Centers, provides support to scientists (users) performing biological experiments in the Columbus Laboratory of the International Space Station. We are assigned by the European Space Agency (ESA) to prepare, validate and execute biological experiments selected for flight. Follow the link to learn more!
